How to use them
Before you ask
A Filipino church community abroad does two jobs at once. It is a place of worship, and it is where a nurse fresh off a night shift, a caregiver on her one day off and a family that just arrived from Cebu find their people. Good small-group questions honor both: they talk about faith, and they make room for the homesickness and the loneliness that come with living far away.
Start with the light group over the food after service. Faith questions about grace in everyday life or a normal moment this week are easy to answer with a plate in hand. In the small group, the middle questions give members a way to say that this season is hard, without having to make a speech. Close with the prayer questions; for many members, the requests will be for parents, children and siblings back home.
The cards come in English and Filipino, so a group that mixes Fil-Am youth, new arrivals and longtime OFWs can each read the same question in the language they pray in.

Tips
- Let a newcomer pass on the deeper questions. Belonging comes before sharing.
- Pray for one request from home by name each week.
- Pair a long-time member with each new arrival at the potluck.
- Keep the group small, five to eight people, for the middle questions.

Frequently asked questions
What are good questions for a Filipino lifegroup or fellowship abroad?
Light faith questions to start (grace you noticed in everyday life, a normal moment you noticed God), then questions about faith in a hard season and prayer requests, which often include family back home.
How can a Filipino church welcome new arrivals?
Feed them, pair them with a long-time member, and ask easy questions before personal ones. Many new arrivals are lonely and working long hours; a warm welcome matters more than a full program.
Are there faith conversation cards in Tagalog?
Yes. Kumustahan’s Lifegroup & Faith deck has questions in English and Filipino on every card, written for small groups.
