Playing Getting to know
How to use this deck
Good getting to know you questions don’t feel like an interview. They ask about something small and specific, then let the other person turn the answer into a story. That’s how this deck is built.
It covers what a good first conversation does: food and free time, places, childhood and home, friends, work and school, and the people who taught you things. The deeper cards turn to values, growth and what you hope for next.
Good for
Tips
- Start on Keep it light. Move to Open up once people are laughing, usually three or four cards in.
- Answer the first card yourself. It shows everyone how long an answer can be.
- Ask one follow-up before the next card. “What happened next?” does more than a new question.
- On a date, take turns drawing so it never feels like one person is asking all the questions.
- Flip the card after someone answers. The reflection on the back often starts the second half of the conversation.

Frequently asked questions
What makes a good getting to know you question?
It asks about something small and specific, like a habit, a place or a memory, instead of something big and abstract. Small questions are easy to answer and turn into stories, which is how people actually get to know each other.
Are these questions okay for a first date?
Yes. Most of the deck is light or medium, written for early conversations, and the deeper cards are few. Choose Keep it light or Open up in setup and the deck stays there.
How many getting to know you cards are free?
60 cards in the Getting to know deck are free for good, with no account. Premium adds 60 more stories to the same deck, 120 in all.
Can I ask them in Tagalog?
