How to use them
Before you ask
Wholesome questions are kind questions. They ask about the small kindnesses people notice, simple ways to brighten someone’s day, and the people whose goodness shows up in small things. Nothing here asks anyone to be edgy or vulnerable, which makes them safe for kids, grandparents and new friends at the same table.
They’re useful whenever a group needs warmth more than depth: a classroom after a rough week, a family gathering where tension is close, a volunteer team at the end of a long day, a group chat that has gotten a little sharp. The imagining round is a favorite with kids, because the superpower is one you give away.
The best wholesome conversations end with an action. If someone describes a simple invitation that would brighten a friend’s day, send it. If someone names a person they respect, tell that person. For more warmth, see positive questions or gratitude questions.
