Devotion time

5 questions

Simple words for faith in ordinary moments.

  1. Think of one ordinary moment this week that reminded you of God.

Mag-isip ng ordinary moment this week na nagpaalala sa'yo kay Lord.

    Back of the card

Worship can begin with attention. A small reminder can turn an ordinary moment back toward God.

  2. Pick one everyday place where you want your faith to show up more.

Pumili ng isang everyday place kung saan gusto mong mas makita yung faith mo.

    Back of the card

Faith grows in ordinary places too: commutes, class, work, home, errands, and group chats. God is not limited to church settings.

Kailan may taong nagpaalala sa'yo ng kindness ni Lord recently?

    Back of the card

The last night

3 questions

Something specific to take home when the camp high fades.

  1. Name one thing God is asking you to do that is clear, but not easy.

Magbanggit ng isang bagay na pinapagawa sa'yo ni Lord na malinaw, pero hindi madali.

    Back of the card

Some clear steps are still hard. That does not make your faith fake; it can be an honest place to ask for grace.

  2. Complete this: I need God's courage to...

    Back of the card

Knowing Scripture is a gift. Practicing it often starts slower, smaller, and more ordinary than we expect.

Gift yung makilala ang Scripture. Pero ang pag-practice nito, madalas nagsisimula sa mas mabagal, mas maliit, at mas ordinary kaysa inaakala natin.

How to use them

Before you ask

At youth camp, the conversations that matter happen in cabins and on buses, not only in the main session. A good cabin leader arrives with questions for each of those in-between moments, and the bus ride is the first.

Keep the bus silly: a comic-book power, a useless invention they’d still buy, a toy they’d make as tall as themselves. In the cabin after lights out, funny-embarrassing stories are the fastest way to turn a room of strangers into a cabin. Teenagers who laughed together at midnight listen to each other at devotions the next morning.

Devotion questions stay simple: an ordinary moment that reminded them of God, someone who helps them know Jesus more. On the last night, ask what follows them home, like a step they know God is asking of them. Camp highs fade; a specific next step lasts longer.

Good for

  • Church summer camps
  • Youth group retreats
  • Cabin leader devotions
  • Long bus rides to camp
  • The last-night campfire

Tips

  1. Give every cabin leader a short list of questions before camp starts.
  2. Let campers ask the bus questions to each other, not just answer yours.
  3. Set one cabin rule: laugh with people, never at them.
  4. On the last night, have each camper write their answer down to take home.
