How to use them

Before you ask

A sleepover has its own schedule. First the loud part, with snacks on the floor and someone fighting about the electric fan. Then the funny stories. Then, once the lights are off, the quiet talk that nobody plans but everyone remembers. These questions follow that night from start to finish.

Start with the silly ones: fake job titles, useless inventions, what animal you would be for a day. They are easy, they make people laugh, and nobody can get them wrong. When the group is warmed up, move to funny stories about wrong-sent messages and misheard words. Keep the lights-off questions for last.

Every card here is light and friendly, written so teens and younger friends can play without anything awkward coming up. Nobody has to answer, nobody gets teased for passing, and stories told in the dark stay in the room.

Good for

  • Sleepovers and slumber parties
  • Teen birthday overnights
  • Cousins sharing a room at lola’s house
  • Youth camps and retreats, after lights out
  • Overnight stays at a beach resort

Tips

  1. Let whoever is hosting deal the first card and pass the phone to the left.
  2. Turn the screen brightness down for the lights-off round.
  3. Any card can be passed. Say it at the start so nobody feels put on the spot.
  4. Keep it kind. Teasing about a funny story is fine, teasing about a person isn’t.
  5. For a younger crowd, stay with the Just for fun deck and the light setting.

Sleepover

Frequently asked questions

What are good questions to ask at a sleepover?

Silly hypotheticals and funny-story questions work well, like inventing an ice cream flavor or sharing an embarrassing but harmless moment. Later, when the lights are off, ask quieter questions about goals and favorite memories.

Are these sleepover questions okay for teens?

Yes. These are light, friendly questions with nothing romantic, mature or pressuring in them, so they work for teens and younger friends. Anyone can pass a card.

What do you talk about at a slumber party when it gets quiet?

Ask something easy and a little warm, like what you are looking forward to or a tradition you want to keep with your friends. Quiet questions in the dark often get the most honest answers of the night.

Can we play these on one phone?

Yes. They are cards from the free Kumustahan app, which works offline. Pick Just for fun and Barkada, choose Keep it light, and pass the phone around the circle.
