How to use them
Before you ask
Spring break questions are for a week that should feel different from the rest of the semester. Start with how people like to travel, because a group that agrees on plans versus surprises before leaving has a much better trip.
On the trip itself, the best questions come during the waiting: the airport gate, the line for the ferry, the hour before dinner. Ask what people do when a plan goes wrong, what they tried just because they were curious, which photo of them should never be posted. The trip becomes the stories you tell about it.
Leave room for rest. Plenty of spring breaks end with everyone more tired than before. The last questions, about where people feel they can breathe and when they feel fully present, are a good check before heading back.

Tips
- Ask the planning questions in the group chat before booking anything.
- Save the trip-story questions for the airport and the drive home.
- Let anyone skip the rest questions. Some people rest by not talking about rest.
- If you’re staying home, ask the planning questions anyway and do one small thing from the answers.
- Write down the best answers. They’re the souvenirs.

Frequently asked questions
What are good questions for a spring break trip with friends?
Travel-style picks before you go (plans or surprises, window or legroom), story questions during the trip about failed plans and curious tries, and a couple of questions about real rest before you head back.
How do you make spring break feel restful?
Ask yourself and your group what kind of rest you actually need, and plan around it. A week of nonstop activity is fun but rarely restful; leave some hours empty.
How do you plan spring break with friends who want different things?
Ask the planning questions before anyone books: plans or surprises, one big trip or a few short ones, where each person would go with a free ticket. Build the week around one wish from each person.
