How to use them
Before you ask
A date night at home has one big advantage over a restaurant: nobody is hovering with the bill. It also has one big risk. The couch, the phone and the show you were already watching are right there, and suddenly it’s a regular Tuesday. The fix is a little structure. Cook something together, put the phones in another room, and bring a handful of questions you wouldn’t normally ask over dinner.
Start with food questions while you chop and stir; they’re easy and they lead to stories. Move to the couch for the silly ones, like the song that should play when each of you walks into a room. Then ask about the two of you. End with one or two slower questions, and stop before it turns into homework. There’s a full plan in how to plan a date night at home.
About half of these come from the Couples deck and the rest are playful questions for anyone; the Couples Edition has plenty more. Every card has a Tagalog version, in case that’s how one of you flirts. Take turns reading, answer everything yourselves, and pass any card you’re not in the mood for.
Good for
Tips
- Put the phones in another room, unless one is dealing the cards.
- Cook or order something you don’t usually have; it marks the night as different.
- Change one thing about the room: a lamp instead of the ceiling light, a blanket on the floor.
- Go from light to deep over the evening, not the other way round.
- Finish with one thing you want to do together soon.

Frequently asked questions
What can couples do for date night at home?
Cook a new recipe together, set up an indoor picnic, have a themed movie night or play a question game. The key is to make it feel different from a normal night: phones away, a changed room and something real to talk about.
What questions should you ask on an at-home date night?
Start with easy food and would-you-rather questions, then ask about the two of you, like something you laughed about recently or a memory that still feels good, and end with a slower question about what is going well between you.
How do you make a date night at home feel special?
Plan it like a real date: pick a time, dress up a little or change the room, and keep screens off. Small effort signals that tonight isn’t just another evening on the couch.
