How to use them
Before you ask
A bachelor party question should do one of two things: make the groom laugh at himself, or let his friends say something they never say. The roast questions handle the first, with funny awards and his famous habits. The toast questions handle the second.
Bachelor weekends often mix friend groups who barely know each other: childhood friends, college roommates, the brother-in-law to be, a couple of coworkers. Stories about the groom are the shared language. Ask everyone how a plan with him went wrong or which ride home they still remember, and the groups fall in together.
The quiet moment usually comes on the last night, or the morning after. Ask each friend to name a good change they’ve seen in the groom, or something they respect about how he lives. He won’t forget it.

Tips
- Let the best man read the roast questions. He knows which ones will land.
- Keep it kind. A roast is affection with jokes, not a list of complaints.
- Use the in-between questions in the van, where everyone is stuck together anyway.
- Do the toast round before people are too tired to mean it.
- Planning a night with the guys after the wedding? See guys’ night questions.
