How to use them
Before you ask
Romantic questions are the ones that make your partner feel noticed: what you do that makes an ordinary day better, the moment they first thought this could be real, the morning view they would pick if they could. Romance is mostly attention, and a good question is attention in a sentence.
Grand romantic questions tend to fall flat. Asked over a candlelit dinner, “what does love mean to you?” makes people freeze. The small versions work better because they ask about something that already happened between you, so there is a real memory to reach for instead of a speech to compose.
Pick a slow moment: a lazy weekend morning, a long dinner, a drive with nowhere to be. Start with the dreamy ones, retell how you met from both points of view, and save the everyday-love questions for when you are both relaxed. More couples cards live on the Couples Edition page.

Tips
- Answer first now and then, especially the how-it-started ones. Hearing your side helps them find theirs.
- Ask for the specific moment, not the general feeling.
- Write down one answer and bring it back months later. That’s romantic.
- Skip the phone. Romantic questions over a screen feel like homework.
- Two or three questions is plenty for one night.

Frequently asked questions
What are some romantic questions to ask your partner?
Ask about the moment it first felt real, the small thing you do that makes their day better, the message that makes them feel close when you are apart, or a trip you would take together. Specific memories beat big definitions.
How do you make a conversation more romantic?
Slow down, put the phones away and ask about the two of you instead of the week’s logistics. Questions about shared memories and small daily gestures bring the warmth in without forcing it.
What is the difference between romantic and deep questions?
Romantic questions are about affection and the good parts of your story. Deep questions reach into fears, pressure and hard moments. Start romantic; go deep on a calmer night.
