How to use them
Before you ask
A women’s group is often the one place in the week where someone asks how she is and waits for the answer. That makes the questions matter. The ones that work name a season rather than a mood: what is asking more patience of you right now, where is waiting testing your trust, what is God teaching you to trust Him with.
Begin gently, while people are still arriving with coffee and the week on their minds: a habit that helps someone start the day with God, a small mood upgrade, a place where she can finally breathe. Then go to the season. In a room of mothers, students, retirees and women in between, seasons are different, and hearing them is how the group learns to pray for each other well.
The third group gives grace its turn: where she could be less harsh with herself, what she keeps blaming herself for. Close by asking how the group can carry one another this week, and then do it.
Good for
Tips
- Ask one season question per meeting and give it time.
- Write down prayer requests and follow up by name the next week.
- Pair a newer member with a long-time one for the grace questions.
- Don’t rush to fix. A friend who listens is the point.
